Description

Description

It sets the background for the authors’ discussions of their respective insights and responses from their indigenous worldviews and perspectives to this chapter’s assertion about development in the Pasifika region. This introductory chapter is about two things: the story of the burial of things that matter in the night, and the permission needed to disinter those things that matter. It is about the burial of the things we value most, the imitations we have adopted because we did not know better, and the disinterment of the things we value most. There is no happy ending to this story. In fact, there is no ending. It is a continuous journey of the burial and unburial of the things that matter.
